Softball Recap: Geneseo Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Geneseo's offense. They fell just short of the Avon Braves by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 7-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Adelyn McDonald spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

Geneseo's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-3. As for Avon, the win keeps they at an undefeated 9-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Geneseo will challenge Letchworth at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Avon, they will take on Caledonia-Mumford at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
