Basketball Game Preview: Jonesport-Beals Royals vs. Calais Blue Devils

The Jonesport-Beals Royals will head out on the road to challenge the Calais Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Jonesport-Beals is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Machias just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 52-35 bruising from the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday Calais sidestepped Sumner for a 59-56 victory.

Calais is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Jonesport-Beals, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Jonesport-Beals came up short against Calais when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 65-56. Can Jonesport-Beals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
