Soccer Game Preview: Mount Juliet vs. Hendersonville

For the first time this season, Mount Juliet will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will welcome the Hendersonville Commandos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mount Juliet's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Mount Juliet took a six-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Blackman, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Golden Bears' defense stepped up to hand the Blaze a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Mount Juliet's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 174th, while Blackman are ranked 45th).

Mount Juliet's one-goal win came courtesy of Caleb Kuck, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Hendersonville didn't have quite enough to beat Bartlett on Saturday and fell 2-1. Hendersonville have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mount Juliet's win bumped their record up to 3-5-2. As for Hendersonville, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5-1.
