Baseball Recap: Brandon Takes a Loss

Brandon suffered their closest defeat since April 20, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Helena Huskies by a score of 7-5. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brandon got a good showing from Cooper Hooks, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Hooks a new career-low.

At the plate, Jay McQueen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Tre Adcox also deserves some recognition as he stole his first stolen base of the season.

Brandon's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Helena, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Brandon has already played their next contest, an 8-2 win against Presbyterian Christian on the 28th. As for Helena, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-7 victory against Sparkman on the 1st.
