Baseball Recap: Coleman Wins Going Away Against Savanna

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coleman). They blew past the Savanna Bulldogs 12-2 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Easton Bayles looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Kase Smith was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Four bases. while going 1-for-2. Dayton Russell also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Coleman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .632. The last time their batting average was this high was back in February of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Coleman and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Savanna, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Coincidentally, Coleman and Savanna will both be playing Milburn the next time they take the field. Savanna will head out to face Milburn at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while Coleman will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
