Volleyball Recap: Dakota Reid Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Manzanola + How To Watch

Springfield won the last time they faced Manzanola and things went their way on Saturday too. The Longhorns blew past the Bobcats 3-0.

Springfield never let Manzanola on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-22, 25-17.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Springfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dakota Reid, who had 27 assists and six digs. That's the most digs Reid has posted over her last six matchups. Another player making a difference was Tyler Mackey, who had six digs and six aces.

Springfield was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

The win got Springfield back to even at 5-5. As for Manzanola, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Springfield will take on Wiley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Manzanola, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Deer Trail at 5:00 p.m. on October 10.
