Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Coolidge

Coolidge had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They strolled past the Empire Ravens with points to spare, taking the game 61-43.

Coolidge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tory Gholston, who went 7 of 16 en route to 15 points and six steals. The contest was Gholston's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Corbyn Downs, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 14 points along with five assists and four steals.

Several Ravens players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Khari Gurley, who posted ten points and six boards. Issac Buchanan was another key player, putting up ten points and six rebounds.

Coolidge's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Empire, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Coolidge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 47-36 victory against Thatcher on the 17th. As for Empire, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-51 loss against Florence on the 13th.
