Baseball Game Preview: Parkville Knights vs. Hereford Bulls

The Parkville Knights will head out to square off against the Hereford Bulls at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Parkville will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Parkville is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Loch Raven 21-0 on Tuesday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by ten runs or more this season.

Bryce Miller and Jacob Ayd dominated on the mound. Miller tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Ayd pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Weston Brine was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Nick Rodriguez, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Parkville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Hereford faced Sparrows Point in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Bulls came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pointers, sneaking past 11-10. That's two games straight that the Bulls have won by just one run.

Parkville's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Hereford, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Parkville came up short against Hereford in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 16-11. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
