Softball Recap: Sutter Takes a Loss

Sutter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Dixon Rams, falling 13-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-5 back in March.

Liliana Speakman and Paytyn Schamanski did some serious damage despite the final result: Speakman scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Schamanski scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Speakman also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Sutter's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Dixon, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Sutter will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Righetti at 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Dixon, they will head out to face off against Woodland at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rams are facing the Wolves at the right time seeing as the Wolves are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
