Basketball Game Preview: Berea-Midpark Titans vs. GlenOak Golden Eagles

The Berea-Midpark Titans will take on the GlenOak Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Berea-Midpark's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Berea-Midpark is headed into the game having just suffered their closest defeat since January 28th on Friday. They fell just short of Elyria by a score of 86-83. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (59), the Titans still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Berea-Midpark saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tyson Clay went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc on his way to 37 points. The match was Clay's seventh in a row with at least 16 points. Nick Reece was another key player, putting up 20 points.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when GlenOak faced off against Lutheran East on Tuesday. GlenOak fell just short of Lutheran East by a score of 60-57. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while the Falcons are ranked 12th).

Berea-Midpark's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 85.7 points over those games. As for GlenOak, they now have a losing record of 10-11.
