Softball Recap: Kimball Union Academy Gets the Win

Kimball Union Academy's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They never let the St. Paul's Big Red get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 5-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Not much got past Bailey Cassin, who gave up just three hits and racked up 16 Ks to keep St. Paul's off the board. Those 16 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Cassin.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Leila Portugal, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Anna Baker, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Kimball Union Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for St. Paul's, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
