Basketball Recap: Peetz Comes Up Short

Peetz lost against Haxtun back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Peetz Bulldogs had to suffer through a 56-20 loss at the hands of the Haxtun Fightin' Bulldogs. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-6.

Haxtun had a senior duo take command as Jayleigh Bullard went 6 of 12 en route to 13 points and Emily Anderson posted five points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. That's the most points Bullard has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Katiegh Cody, who scored seven points and six boards.

Peetz is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9. As for Haxtun, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Peetz will head out on the road to square off against Prairie at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Haxtun, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 47-34 win against Holyoke on the 18th.
