Baseball Recap: Kingman Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Kingman had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 28-run drubbing they dealt Highland Prep on Friday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Honey Badgers with a sharp 28-0 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Codey Padilla was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Canton Collins was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and five RBI.

Kingman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Highland Prep only posted a batting average of .000.

Kingman's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Highland Prep, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Kingman has already played their next matchup, a 10-1 victory against Tonopah Valley on the 8th. As for Highland Prep, they are taking a road trip to square off against River Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Honey Badgers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Dust Devils have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
