Softball Recap: Avon's Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak on the Road

While Avon put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Parker. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Pheasants. The matchup marked the Pirates' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Macy Voigt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Voigt was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Pria Sessler was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Rilyn Thury, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Avon's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-3-1. As for Parker, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avon will head out to challenge Mobridge-Pollock at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Parker, they will venture away from home to take on Parkston at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
