Recap: Palisades Pumas vs. Myers Park Mustangs
The Palisades Pumas lost against the Myers Park Mustangs back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Palisades was outmatched by the Mustangs at home and fell 66-30. Palisades has struggled against the Mustangs recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Palisades' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kingston Henry, who scored eight points.
It was another big night for Sadiq White Jr., who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and five blocks for Myers Park. White Jr. has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bishop Boswell, who scored ten points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Palisades' defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Myers Park, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 18-2.
Palisades will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sabres at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Mecklenburg knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully the Pumas likes a good challenge. Myers Park is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th.
