Basketball Recap: Macks Creek Comes Up Short

Macks Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 64-45 to the Tipton Cardinals. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2015.

Tipton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben Bestgen, who posted 15 points and seven steals. Those seven steals gave Bestgen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Cashman, who scored 14 points along with eight boards and three steals.

Macks Creek's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Tipton, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-9 record.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Climax Springs the next time they take the court. Tipton will head out to face Climax Springs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while Macks Creek will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
