Soccer Game Preview: Cypress Springs vs. Tomball Memorial

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Cypress Springs take on Tomball Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Two weeks ago, Cypress Springs and Cypress Lakes finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Tomball Memorial didn't have quite enough to beat Klein Oak on Friday and fell 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wildcats came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 59th, while the Panthers are ranked 215th).

Tomball Memorial's goal came courtesy of Jeffrey Boedeker, who's now up to eight this season.

Tomball Memorial's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-3-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those three matches. Cypress Springs' draw gives them a new season record of 9-6-5.
