Ironton strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on the Archbishop McNicholas Rockets with a sharp 29-7 victory. The score was close at halftime, but the Fighting Tigers pulled away in the second half with 23 points.

Ironton was led to victory by Zayne Williams and Kayden Edwards. Williams rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns, while Edwards rushed for 96 yards. Williams also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making six total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defending one pass. Braydon Baker made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Ironton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 231 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Archbishop McNicholas only rushed for 25 rushing yards.

Ironton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Baker led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Jacob Hughes got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Ironton's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Archbishop McNicholas, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
