Softball Recap: Franklin Academy Comes Up Short

Franklin Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vance Charter Knights. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 19-0 to the Knights when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Franklin Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paige Shriver, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Franklin Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Vance Charter, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2.

Franklin Academy has already played their next game, an 8-6 loss against East Wake Academy on the 14th. As for Vance Charter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-1 defeat against Roxboro Community on the 15th.
