Basketball Recap: Goose Creek Piles Up the Points Against Woodland

Goose Creek won the last time they faced Woodland and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Goose Creek Gators took their contest with ease, bagging a 55-18 victory over the Woodland Wolverines. With the Gators ahead 34-11 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Leading Goose Creek to victory were Madeline Dates and Jaliaya Jacobs. Dates posted 19 points, while Jacobs put up 13 points. Aubrey Downey was another key player, putting up seven points.

Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lenaya Ross, who scored six points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Essence Walker, who earned eight points.

Goose Creek has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. As for Woodland, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Goose Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 49-48 win against Berkeley on the 14th. Woodland has also already played their next matchup (against Philip Simmons), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
