Basketball Recap: Piedmont Community Charter Beats Highland Tech for Their Third Straight Victory

If Highland Tech wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Piedmont Community Charter, they should've done a better job of containing Eli Grant. The Patriots breezed past the Rams to the tune of 59-27 on Friday for which the team can thank Grant, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine steals. He has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played.

Lucas Lindgren was another key player, putting up seven points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jalen Bernard, who posted five points.

The win was the third in a row for Piedmont Community Charter, bringing their record up to 3-1.

They will have a chance to go back-to-back against Highland Tech: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
