Basketball Recap: Alliance Bulldogs vs. Gering Bulldogs
Alliance unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 52-22 loss at the hands of the Gering Bulldogs. Alliance was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Gering apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.
Macey Seebohm was Alliance's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Amora Gonzalez took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Leading Gering to victory were Jacelyn Brown and Jacey Cochran. Brown went 5 of 11 on her way to 16 points and four steals, while Cochran posted eight points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals. Cochran is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenzie Todd, who had seven points.
Alliance wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 38-15 defeat against Mitchell on the 7th. As for Gering, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-66 loss against Sidney on the 7th.
