Nease ended up on the wrong side of a rough 63-41 walloping at the hands of Paxon School For Advanced Studies on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Nease can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Paxon School For Advanced Studies is ranked 49th).
Despite the loss, Nease saw an underclassman step up: Abilgail Robinson scored 8 points along with 8 rebounds. Another player making a difference was McKenna Owens, who scored 7 points along with 5 rebounds.
Among those leading the charge was Ansley Hicks, who scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. The matchup was her third in a row with at least ten points. Reese Holman was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 7 rebounds.
Nease now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-1.
Nease will face off against Middleburg at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oakleaf at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
