Soccer Recap: Strom Thurmond Takes a Loss

If Strom Thurmond was riding high fresh off their 6-1 takedown of American Leadership Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Strom Thurmond fell just short of the Pelion Panthers by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. Strom Thurmond were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Pelion earlier this season, when they won 5-2.

Helder Hernandez and Fitz Byrd scored both of Strom Thurmond's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 19 goals.

Strom Thurmond's loss dropped their record down to 6-1. As for Pelion, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Strom Thurmond will take on Saluda at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Strom Thurmond's defense better be ready for this one: Saluda has averaged an impressive 2.6 goals per game this season. We've got a battle between Panthers coming up.
