Bauxite is a perfect 4-0 against Fountain Lake since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Miners will welcome the Cobras at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Bauxite is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Baptist Prep on Thursday. They lost 13-2 to the Eagles.

KB Jacks made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Emma King, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Mount St. Mary Academy hit Fountain Lake with a four-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cobras came up short against the Belles, falling 11-5. The Cobras have struggled against the Belles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Ellie Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two triples, and three runs.

Bauxite has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Fountain Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.

Bauxite took their win against Fountain Lake in their previous matchup last Tuesday by a conclusive 15-4 score. Do the Miners have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cobras turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
