Del Sol is 1-9 against Southeast Career Tech since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Dragons will venture away from home to square off against the Roadrunners at 3:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Del Sol comes in on three and Southeast Career Tech on ten.
While Del Sol's win against Desert Pines wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Dragons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Jaguars on Wednesday.

Erik Gonzalez made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. He has become a key player for Del Sol: the team is undefeated when he posts at least one home run, but 7-11 otherwise.
Gonzalez wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tony Luna, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Southeast Career Tech faced Green Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Roadrunners' pitchers stepped up to hand the Gators a 3-0 shutout.
Harmon Nelson looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
Southeast Career Tech pushed their record up to 20-9 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Del Sol, their record is now 10-11.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Del Sol has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .470. However, it's not like Southeast Career Tech struggles in that department as they've averaged .458. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Del Sol suffered a grim 13-0 defeat to Southeast Career Tech in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Dragons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
