Baseball Recap: Grassfield Triumphs

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grassfield). They came out on top against the Oscar Smith Tigers by a score of 9-4 on Thursday. The Grizzlies have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Hayden Roach was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Giacomo Franco, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Roach wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Grassfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Grassfield's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Oscar Smith, their record now sits at 2-2.

Grassfield is facing Nansemond River at the right time seeing as Nansemond River is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Oscar Smith, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Catholic at 6:00 p.m.
