Baseball Recap: Agape Christian Comes Up Short

After flying high against Shawnee last Tuesday, Agape Christian came back down to earth. The Knights came up short against the Century Centurions on Friday, falling 14-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 6-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Agape Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Comerford, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Comerford is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Will Staff also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Agape Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Century, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Agape Christian will host Pope County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Century, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Vienna at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Centurions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season.
