Godley is 7-1 against Glen Rose since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Godley Wildcats take on Glen Rose Tigers at 1:30 p.m. Godley is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
On Friday, everything went Godley's way against Ferris as Godley made off with a 20-1 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.
Grayson Crane looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Braxton Spohn was a standout: he scored three runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Daily, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Godley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Glen Rose made sure to put some runs up on the board against Jim Ned on Thursday. Glen Rose blew past Jim Ned 10-2. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Tigers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Jeg Shirley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Glen Rose is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 5-6 otherwise.
At the plate, Joe Randell was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Adrian Sanchez was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
Godley pushed their record up to 18-2-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Glen Rose, their record is now 8-6.
Godley was able to grind out a solid win over Glen Rose when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Godley since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
