Santa Maria took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Santa Ynez, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Santa Maria Saints came out on top in a nail-biter against the Santa Ynez Pirates on Tuesday, sneaking past 2-1. The Saints' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Santa Maria saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Medina, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Santa Maria's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for Santa Ynez, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santa Maria will head out to challenge Nipomo at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Santa Ynez, they will venture away from home to take on Morro Bay at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Morro Bay is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
