Football Recap: Apollo Ridge Vikings vs. Leechburg Blue Devils
Apollo Ridge kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell to the Leechburg Blue Devils 19-14. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.
Although Apollo Ridge took the loss, they still got scores from Taye Bradshaw and Nathan Fryer.
Jayden Floyd had a dynamite game for Leechburg, rushing for 86 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while also throwing for 143 yards and a touchdown.
Apollo Ridge is taking a road trip to take on Jeannette at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Leechburg, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Bethlehem Center at 7:00 p.m.
