Basketball Recap: Rifle Comes Up Short

Rifle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by the Moffat County Bulldogs 66-38. The matchup marked the Bears' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Rifle had strong showings from Alex Gonzalez, who posted 15 points, and Adan Medina, who had six points.

Kenyen Camilletti continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Moffat County, going 7 of 14 on his way to 19 points and five steals. Camilletti has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jr Welch, who went 5 for 12 en route to 13 points and five rebounds.

Rifle's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Moffat County, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-9.

Rifle will take on Glenwood Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rifle is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season. As for Moffat County, they will square off against Delta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
