Softball Recap: Las Plumas Picks Up 14th Straight Win at Home

Las Plumas put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's fifth consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They blew past the Oroville Tigers 22-0. The Thunderbirds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 20 matchups by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Kendal Headley, who fired off two home runs, nine RBI, and four runs while going 5-for-5. Those nine RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Atteberry, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Las Plumas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .579. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Las Plumas pushed their record up to 24-3 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Oroville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 17 of their last 18 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-21 record this season.
