Baseball Recap: Union City's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

Union City has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.33 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tonkawa Buccaneers. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Union City got a good showing from Bryce Ramos, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Aiden Williams stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Aiden Lawson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Union City's loss dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Tonkawa, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Union City will venture away from home to square off against Watonga at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Tonkawa, they will welcome Timberlake at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Buccaneers are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
