Basketball Recap: Lightridge Gets the Win

Lightridge's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They secured a 67-62 W over the Briar Woods Falcons. This was a revenge game for the Bolts: when they faced off against the Falcons back in January, they had to take a 61-40 defeat.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Josh Winklosky, who went 5-for-10 en route to 13 points and eight boards. Winklosky is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played. Nick Donatella was another key player, putting up ten points.

Lightridge's record now sits at 4-15. As for Briar Woods, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Lightridge has already played their next game (against Potomac Falls), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Briar Woods, they will be playing at home against Independence at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Independence knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Briar Woods likes a good challenge.
