Baseball Recap: Morenci Comes Up Short

Morenci was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 17-3 to the Whiteford Bobcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 12-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Morenci saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Talan Kruse, who went 1-for-2 with one run. That run marked the first that Kruse has scored this season.

Morenci's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Whiteford, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Morenci is set to take on their familiar foe Britton Deerfield at 6:00 p.m. on the 29th. Meanwhile, Whiteford will square off against rival Erie-Mason at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
