Basketball Recap: Kingston Comes Up Short

Kingston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Crystal City Hornets and fell 68-23. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-9.

Crystal City found their leader in freshman Addison Bova, who went 7 of 12 en route to 16 points along with seven assists and six boards. Bova's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Molly Reiter was another key player, going 5 for 10 on her way to 14 points.

Kingston's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Crystal City, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-6.

Kingston has already played their next game (against West County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Crystal City will venture away from home to face off against Hancock at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crystal City knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Hancock likes a good challenge.
