Basketball Recap: Sadie Davis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Manila over Rich

Manila lost against Rich back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Manila Mustangs came up short against the Rich Rebels, falling 56-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mustangs have suffered since December 6, 2024.

Manila lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Sadie Davis, who posted eight points in addition to nine boards and four blocks. Oakley Browning was another key player, putting up seven points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Manila smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Rich got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Molly Weston out in front who went 7 for 16 en route to 16 points and four steals. Weston has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Braylyn Pugmire, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards.

Manila's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Rich, they pushed their record up to 18-2 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Manila has already played their next game, a 62-33 victory against Altamont on the 8th. As for Rich, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-35 win against Tabiona on the 8th.
