There's no place like home for Robert C. Byrd, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past the South Harrison Hawks 18-8 on Wednesday. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ashton Shaffer was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cooper Floyd, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Robert C. Byrd's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for South Harrison, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Robert C. Byrd will welcome North Marion at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
