Baseball Game Preview: St. Patrick Shamrocks vs. Latin Romans

The St. Patrick Shamrocks will face off against the Latin Romans at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. St. Patrick will be strutting in after a victory while Latin will be coming in after a loss.

St. Patrick will bounce into Monday's game after beating Marist, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Shamrocks walked away with a 12-7 win over the RedHawks on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Latin fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Timothy Christian on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 9-8. The Romans' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Jackson Darke made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Liam Calvert was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

St. Patrick's victory bumped their record up to 15-11. As for Latin, their loss dropped their record down to 12-3.

St. Patrick skirted past Latin 4-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2022. Will the Shamrocks repeat their success, or do the Romans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
