Soccer Recap: South Sioux City Finds Playoff Glory Versus Papillion-Lavista

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only South Sioux City walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Papillion-LaVista Monarchs on Monday. The final result isn't all the surprising considering South Sioux City's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska soccer rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Papillion-LaVista are ranked 35th).

The win (which was South Sioux City's third in a row) raised their record to 13-4. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Papillion-LaVista, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
