Waynedale is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Hillsdale is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Golden Bears will host the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Waynedale saw some tournament action on Monday. They put the hurt on Mapleton with a sharp 3-0 win.
Waynedale never let Mapleton on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-23.

Kylie Geiser and Mya Spitler were among the main playmakers for Waynedale as the former had 16 digs and two aces and the latter had 11 digs. Geiser is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games she's played.
They weren't the only good servers: Waynedale was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Hillsdale hadn't done well against Smithville recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Falcons narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Smithies 3-2.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Hillsdale got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 26-28, 34-32, 20-25, 15-8.
Waynedale's win bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Hillsdale, their victory bumped their record up to 14-11.
Waynedale was able to grind out a solid win over Hillsdale when the teams last played back in September, winning 3-1. Do the Golden Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
