Basketball Recap: Trai Kaufmann Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Chapel Field Christian

Eldred posted their closest victory since February 12, 2024 on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Chapel Field Christian Lions, sneaking past 46-43. The 46-point effort marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Eldred's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trai Kaufmann led the charge by going 8 of 20 en route to 23 points along with eight boards and three blocks. With that strong performance, Kaufmann is now averaging an impressive 15.7 points per game. Another player making a difference was James Deyermond, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Eldred and bumps their season record up to 7-3. As for Chapel Field Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
