While Johnsburg's victory against Grant Community wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Skyhawks skirted past the Bulldogs 6-5. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Joree Tibbs spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sarah Nethaway was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Abriana Bruns, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Johnsburg's win bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Grant Community, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-12-1.

Coming up, Johnsburg will be playing at home against Harvard at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grant Community, they will head out to challenge Wauconda at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Wauconda has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.39 runs per game on average), something Grant Community will no doubt try to take advantage of.
