Soccer Game Preview: St. Croix Central vs. Barron

The St. Croix Central Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Barron Golden Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Croix Central is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for St. Croix Central's offense. They came up short against Somerset on Tuesday, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, St. Croix Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 231st, while Somerset are ranked 63rd).

Meanwhile, Barron also failed to score in their most recent game. They fell just short of Washburn by a score of 1-0 on Thursday.

Barron's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4-3. As for St. Croix Central, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12-1.

Everything went St. Croix Central's way against Barron when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as St. Croix Central made off with a 4-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
