Football Game Preview: Hempstead Bobcats vs. Hallettsville Brahmas

Hempstead hasn't had much luck against Hallettsville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Brahmas at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hempstead's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Hitchcock on Friday. They were dealt a 35-0 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1063rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 180th).

Meanwhile, Hallettsville took a blow against Hitchcock last Friday, falling 34-7.

Hempstead will have to contain Chaseton Ford as he made an impact in Hallettsville's last game. He rushed for 69 yards and one TD on only five carries.

Hallettsville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Hempstead, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Hempstead took a serious blow against Hallettsville in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 55-3. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bobcats were down 34-3.
