Basketball Recap: Asheboro Hybrid Academy's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

After flying high against Faith Christian Academy last Tuesday, Asheboro Hybrid Academy came back down to earth. The Asheboro Hybrid Academy Warriors fell 64-54 to the Calvary Christian Cougar on Friday. The Warriors' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Despite the defeat, Asheboro Hybrid Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Landon Hudson dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for Hudson. The team also got some help courtesy of Corbin Steadman, who posted eight points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Asheboro Hybrid Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Asheboro Hybrid Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4. As for Calvary Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-6.

Asheboro Hybrid Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-57 win against Vandalia Christian on the 14th. As for Calvary Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-39 defeat against Gospel Light Christian on the 14th.
