While Valencia's victory against Calvary Chapel wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Eagles on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won seven matches in a row.

Rihanna Smith was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Cassie Queen, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Valencia's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-10. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Calvary Chapel, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Valencia will be playing at home against Whitney at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Calvary Chapel, they will head out to take on Tustin at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
