Basketball Recap: Wartburg Central Comes Up Short

Wartburg Central lost against Oliver Springs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wartburg Central Bulldogs lost 61-40 to the Oliver Springs Bobcats.

Oliver Springs was led to victory by Ethan Jones and Gavin Johnson. Jones went 6-for-10 on his way to 23 points along with five assists and five boards, while Johnson went 8-for-20 en route to 25 points. Jones is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was JaQuan Benton, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds.

Wartburg Central's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Oliver Springs, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-13 record this season.

Wartburg Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oliver Springs, they will take on Jellico at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jellico has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight losses, while Oliver Springs will come in with seven straight wins.
