Softball Recap: Bay Comes Up Short

Bay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 8-5 to the Greene County Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, with their most recent defeat being a 17-1 loss last Thursday.

Bea Buice - 2027 was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. Buice - 2027 was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

In other batting news, Devin Bourgeois - 2025 made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Even though they lost, Bay lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Greene County, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Bay will be playing at home against D'Iberville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Greene County, they will take on Pass Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
